Synopsis

During the Nazi occupation of Poland, Irena Sendler risked her life to save over 2,500 Jewish children from the Warsaw Ghetto. A primary school teacher and social worker, she organised a clandestine rescue network, forged documents and convinced families to entrust their children to Polish families or religious institutions. To carry out her mission, she chose a code name: Jolanta.
